July MFTeaser #1 and a Three-fer!!!

Sorry I'm late this morning ladies....I slept in!! I don't work until 1pm today, so I laid in a bit and can't believe it was so late!! Yippeee! Love when that happens, which is not very often.

Today begins the Teasers for July's releases by My Favorite Things! I have to say, I'm really enjoying playing with all the new stamps. Today's cards feature a great set called Bunny Slippers. I made three coordinating cards using the same stamps and papers and I really like the way they turned out!!

The first one is actually for today's MFT Sketch Challenge posted over on SCS. I changed it up a bit so that my longer image would fit. The papers I used were all coordinating from My Mind's Eye and they just had a bathrobe-y, lounge-y type feel to them, don't you think??

I used different matching SU cardstock in Groovy Guava, Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal and So Saffron. I added some matching SU brads, Prima flowers, ribbon and buttons.

I also used three different sentiments that come with the set. It's really fun to paper piece which is what I did for the robes on all the cards. I used my new Fiskars Fingertip knife to cut out the little sections under her arms and also where her wrists are. It made it really easy!

July marks MFT's 2nd birthday AND Kim's 40th birthday, so there are LOTS of discounts and deals this month in addition to all the MFTeasers and your chance to become MFT’s next Guest Designer! Check out the MFT forum for all the details!

Here are some details for the upcoming MFT release on July 2nd:

Sets are released on Wed, July 2nd at approximately 10:30 EST.
The FIRST 50 orders will receive a full sized Stickles glitter glue FREE!
Orders under $40 will ship for $2. Orders over $40 will receive a $2.75 discount on shipping.
The Girl Who Wants It All special for the July Collection is $49.95. This will buy you all SIX releases! YES, SIX!

Be sure to check out the samples by all the other wonderful Design Team members and come on back here tomorrow for some more eye candy!!!

Wish You Were Here......

Actually, it's a really drab and dreary Sunday morning here in Ontario.......perfect day for stampin', I say!!! I always look on the bright side!! Heh heh!! So I do wish you were here, so you could stamp and play with me!!

I'm posting this card to start the day off with some cheery colours!! It's also one of the new Magnolia stamps that just got released with the Summer and Sea collection. I really didn't think I was that fond of the 'side view' images, but once I had it coloured, I rather like it!!!

The designer papers, glitter paper and card base were supplied by Magnolia and I also added Pink Passion, So Saffron and Orchid Opulence. The image, along with some clouds were stamped on Wausau bright white cardstock using Brilliance Graphite Black ink and I drew in the grass as well. I coloured her in using my Copic markers, added some detail using my Mat Pack, attached some Prima flowers with a glitter brad and pop dotted the main image. The sentiment is from the Essential Sentiments set by My Favorite Things, which is often my 'go-to' sentiment set. The finishing touch, of course, is the Stardust Stickles on her lovely wings!

Well, I'm going to go grab a cup of coffee and get busy stamping (in between loads of laundry, o' course) and I hope you get to stamp a little today too! Don't forget, tomorrow starts the MFTeasers with the July release on Wednesday!! Can't wait to show you what I've been working on!!

A New Home!!!

Not for me of course!! We will be celebrating 3 years in our house this summer and I LOVE my house!!! No this card was commissioned by a coworker to give her daughter and son-in-law for their new home. My brother is also taking possession of his very first home this weekend too, so I'll be making another one of these on the double!! And no, he doesn't read my blog, so no need to worry that he'll see it!!

First I chose the patterned paper which is actually from the Nana's Nursery Baby Girl DCWV stack but I loved the sparkly cherries on it and the homey feel!! So I stamped the Magnolia house (isn't it adorable?) on Wausau bright white cardstock in Brilliance Graphite Black ink and coloured it in using my Copics. Then I cut it out. The card base is a white square and the coordinating cardstock is Cameo Coral. I used my ticket corner punch then added the sentiment from an SU set on So Saffron cardstock. The house is pop dotted and I added some flowers and glitter brads. My coworker just loved it!!

I'm off to work again!!! ALL day!! I really should be home gettin' inky and playin' with my new rubbah!! But alas....the patrons at the library need my help, so no fun for me!! Hope you have a wonderful Saturday!!!!

Another High Hopes Peek!!

Oh I just can't stand it....I have to share!!! You'll be happy to know that my mail made it safely into my mailbox today and I am in rubber heaven!!! My hands are sore from cutting them all out, but I DON'T CARE!!!

There are ______ and ______ and cute little _______ too!! OH, you didn't think I was really going to spill the beans, did you?? But trust me, you'll just DIE when ya see 'em!!!

So I thought I'd share another little snippet of one of the new releases!!

Any ideas?? Hmmmmmmmm???? Well, I've got to get ready for work now.....yuck!! And I have to leave all this rubbery goodness at home??!! I can't do it!! Maybe I'll take one of them with me in my pocket so that I can pull it out and sniff it in between patrons!!! What??? You don't smell your brand new rubber stamps??!! I don't believe you!! *giggle*

Friday Sketchers #8!!

Wow, it's Friday again! Can you believe it?? And it's time for another Friday Sketchers challenge!! This week, Bea from Germany is our hostess and she has a fabulous layout for you to play with!

This card was made using mostly products that were sent to me by Magnolia Designs in a DT kit. The card base is a Whisper White 6x6 square base and I made my own patterned paper using Bashful Blue and stamping the new flower stamps all over it in BB. Then I sponged and distressed the edges, added some sparkly green paper and another patterned piece, according to the sketch and tied some pink ribbon around the center. The flowers and butterfly brads are from Magnolia too. I attached the flowers with glittery green brads and the sentiment is a new stamp by Inkadinkado. I stamped Tilda and her daisies on Wausau bright white cardstock and coloured her in using my Copic markers. I finished off the card by pop dotting Tilda, adding Stardust Stickles to her wings and flowers and adding some highlights with white acrylic paint! Be sure to head over to Friday Sketchers and see what the other Sassy Sketchers have created for your viewing pleasure! Then join in the fun!!

Well, I haven't gone down to the mailbox yet, but I'm really hoping that I have a package.....or two!! I never did hear back from the post office yesterday and I rechecked my mailbox twice yesterday afternoon and evening. Figures!! There'd better be something for me today....or it's gonna get ugly!!!

I have a couple of hours before I head in to work so I'm gonna go grab a cuppa coffee, check the mailbox and stamp a little! Have a super day!!

Beachy Keen!!

Good Thursday morning.....well, I guess it's actually almost noon!! Today I didn't have to get up for work, or get up to take anyone to school....so I slept in until after 9am!!! Woohoooooo! It was awesome!! However, when I did my favourite activity of the day (make my trip down to the mailbox, hoping for some happy mail), I was perplexed!! I had a key in my mailbox to a larger compartment, which means that I have a package that won't fit in my regular slot. So I took the key and opened the bigger box and......it was empty!! Now how mean is that?? That's just like a big giant PSYCHE!!! I am expecting the lovely new stamps from High Hopes that are being released next week and I am SURE that's what was supposed to be in there. Anyhoo, I ran right home and called the post office. They SAID they will try to get a hold of the driver and see if maybe he gave me the wrong key or put my package in the wrong box....and I'm really hoping no one else gets my package. My husband is teasing me, saying that the post office decided to keep all my wonderful rubber....needless to say, I'm not amused. And I'm still waiting for a phone call back......

Today's card features a favourite HH stamp of mine, called Little Sand Architect. I stamped it in Wausau bright white cardstock, coloured in with my Copics and cut it out with my Nesties. The card base is Pumpkin Pie and I accented with Real Red, Brocade Blue and So Saffron. The dp is by My Mind's Eye from the Star Bright collection. The sentiment is from a Lizzie Anne Designs set called Shore Thoughts.
I just added some striped ribbon and there ya go, a nice Beachy card!!

So do you want to have a boo at a teeny tiny portion of one of the stamps that I'm waiting on pins and needles for???

Hehe! I don't want to show you TOO much! Do you know what that is?? Take a guess!!

Okay, I have a million and one samples to make for new releases next week, so I best get busy!!! Have a stampy fantastic day!!!

A Glittery Challenge!!

This week's challenge at All That Scraps is all about GLITTER!! You know I can't make a card without some sort of blingy goodness on it!!! Stardust Stickles are a staple in my craft room.....I think I have about 5 bottles, so I never run the risk of running out!!! haha!!

I had yet to play with this cute little puppy from the Love Ya Much set, peeking up at me, so I inked him up, coloured him in with my Copics and cut him out. I used a mix of Marvy punches and Nestabilities to make the circle layers for him to lay on. The dp is from a DCWV stack and I LOVE the chocolately colour combo! There's lots of sparkles on this paper too! I added some narrow satin bright pink ribbon, attached some Prima flowers using rhinestone brads and punched out the matching sentiment with my large oval punch. I pop dotted the sentiment layer along with the pup and added a dot of Stardust Stickles in each scallop!! So sparkly!!! Be sure to head over to the ATS Gallery to see what the other DT members have created....and be sure to join in the challenge yourself!! I mean, who doesn't love glitter???!!

Well, I don't work today until 5pm, so I'm going to be a busy beaver today, working on lots of new release stuff!! Happy Stampin'!!!

Tuesday's Tilda!!!

Good Tuesday morning everyone!!! I hope you have plans for this sunshiney day! Mine include going to work and sitting through TWO meetings.....ick!! Anyway, I chose to post this card this morning to help lift my spirits!!

This is a card that I made a little while ago when I first got my Eiffel Tower stamp from The Town Scrapper, which goes perfectly with Paris Tilda! So I made a little scene with them! This was a challenge set by one of our Magnolia DT members, Beatrix! We had to make a scene with our Magnolia stamps.....and I'm finally posting mine!!! **sigh**

The card base is a white 6x6 square and the dp is from one of the many DCWV Stacks (I have so many now, it's hard to keep track which is which!!). I stamped the tower and Tilda on separate pieces of Wausau cardstock, coloured them in with my Copics and cut out Tilda. The coordinating cardstocks I used are Rose Red and Elegant Eggplant. I made the sentiment layer using some punches and hung it from the wide white satin ribbon. I pop dotted almost everything and added Stardust Stickles to the heart on top of the tower. The matching Prima flowers are attached with some 'blingy' rhinestone brads and I highlighted a bit on Tilda's cheeks and shoes with some white acrylic paint.

I'm working on lots of fun stuff this week to be released next week, so get ready for lots of reveals and teasers!!! I'm going to go grab another coffee and head to work.......cheerio!!!

Are We There Yet???

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Saturday was kind of rainy here, but Sunday we had beautiful weather! Emileigh had her friends sleep over in the tent on Saturday night and they had an absolute blast. First they played Guitar Hero and Singstar on the Playstation 3 here in the livingroom. Al barbecued hot dogs and we had chips, pop and yummy chocolate cake (from the store....I worked all day on Saturday, remember?).

They had the new tent set up like a sheik's tent filled with three sleeping bags, nine blankets and 4 pillows!! It was so cool, I almost wanted to sleep in there.....almost. Al ran them out an extension cord from the house (like 12 feet away) and they had Emileigh's portable DVD player and a small heater, if they needed it. They had glow sticks and a flashlight and of course, they brought out food! So fun!

Yesterday, Al and I took a looooooooong drive (2 and a half hours to be exact) to Niagara Falls and spent the afternoon walking around the Niagara Gorge. We did a LOT of climbing and hiking and I think I did pretty well, considering that I'm completely and totally out of shape!! We took some awesome pictures by the water and on the rocks and in the foliage. By the time we got out, I was sweaty and dirty and freakin' tired!! Let's just say my poor little body is in shock this morning!!

Anyhoo, on to today's card!! I'm totally getting excited for the first week in July! Several of my design teams have new releases coming up, so I'm working my little fingers to the bone!! I just got a peek at the new High Hopes images and I'm beyond giddy and I promise, you will be too!! Maybe I'll give you some little previews later this week, would you like that??

So I pulled out an older HH image that I haven't played with before called Are We There Yet?, which funnily enough, reminds me of hiking yesterday, because I kept saying the same thing to my husband!!

The base is a Chocolate Chip square, with Really Rust, Brocade Blue and Certainly Celery for accents and the dp strip is by We R Memorymakers. I used Copics to colour the image, added Prima flowers with an SU brad and added the sentiment at the bottom.

Okay, I've got the whole day off today and lots to do, so I'd better go grab a coffee and get to it!!! Hope you have a wonderful Monday!!!

Tingla Baby!!

I'm afraid today's is going to be a quick post! This is supposed to be my weekend off but I am working 9-5pm today for a girl who needed the day off. Poo.

This is a card that I made for my friend Ellen! She just became a grandma for the very first time to a beautiful little girl named Tabitha. So I pulled out a stamped image from my friend Tara, as I don't have this particular stamp.....shocking, I know! But she stamped it for me on my favourite cardstock, using my favourite ink....she's so thoughtful!! I'm sure you can recite it by heart by now, but in case you are new to my blog, I LOVE Wausau bright white cardstock and Archival Brilliance Graphite Black ink for using with my Copic markers. I did buy some Georgia Pacific cardstock that I found the other day, quite by accident at a liquidation place, so I'll try that out soon and let you know how I make out!

Anyhoo, the card base is Pretty in Pink and the sparkly patterned paper is from one of those DCWV Stacks, although I can't remember which one. And the scalloped edge is in So Saffron and I made it using my corner rounder. The ribbon is a satiny polka dot pink by American Crafts and the sentiment layer is done using my different punches and the Riveting stamp set. I pop dotted Tingla and added some highlights using my white gel pen.

Well, I'd best be off to work now....I'm sure it's going to be another exciting day with patrons galore!! Emileigh is all done her exams and is off for the summer, so she is having a couple of girlfriends sleep over tonight. Al bought her a 5-person tent and he set it up in the backyard yesterday. They plan to spend the night in the tent but I'm thinkin' it just might rain so they'll probably end up on my livingroom floor!! Hahaha!

Have a lovely Saturday!!

Friday Sketchers #7!!

Today is Sketch #7 on the Friday Sketchers blog! You know how much I love to create with a sketch, and this week's sketch is very user friendly!! It was designed by Mumur from France! I just think it's so amazing to think that we, in this craft, are connected to so many people with the same passion all over the world, don't you??

Anyway, I wanted to play with another new stamp that came all the way from Scotland!! Here is another Elisabeth Bell design that I got from Funkykits! These images are just too adorable and I hear there are more sweet ones on the way!

This one is called Kitty and I used a Blue Bayou textured square card for the base. The image was stamped on Wausau bright white cardstock using Archival Brilliance Graphite Black ink and coloured in with my Copics. The patterned papers are from the Honey Pie line by Cosmo Cricket and I sponged around all the edges using Tea Dye distress ink. The matching cardstocks are So Saffron and Rose Romance. I added a strip of Old Olive cardstock across the center and used my Heidi Swapp distress tool on the edges. Then I added some grosgrain ribbon and a few coordinating buttons. A very simple layout and one I will use again, for sure!! Head over to Friday Sketchers and check out what the other DT members have whipped up for your viewing pleasure!!

Well, I'm still having major issues with my internet. I got the computer problems fixed with a new cordless mouse and keyboard but it is still hit or miss with the connection to the internet. Hopefully we can figure this out over the weekend!!

I have the day off work today and it's Emileigh last exam this morning. Then we are heading over to London for a little lunch and shopping!!!

Tilda with Roses!

First off, I am having serious computer issues lately, both with my internet connection and my stupid computer itself!! So if I disappear for a while, you'll know why! I can still post from any other computer but all my pictures and stuff are saved on my main computer and if I lose my internet connection, I can't even post!! Grrrr! Very frustrating! Anyhoo, on to the card!!

I'm SO thrilled with the way this one turned out. I made this card for the Magnolia Design Team using one of the newly release images. With the Magnolia DT I have to design and create 5 card with each set of stamps that they send me and then package them up and mail them back to them for use in their different stamp fairs and exhibitions. So this one is made specifically for them using patterned papers from their shop.

I stamped Tilda with Roses on Wausau bright white cardstock using Archival Brilliane Graphite Black ink and coloured her in using my Copic markers. I cut her out using my rectangle Nestabilities and I used the scalloped ones to cut out the scalloped rectangle in Soft Sky to mat her on. The card base and most of the patterned papers and also that lovely lace at the bottom is all from Magnolia. I added the Pretty in Pink cardstock, River Rock cardstock, the pink patterned paper, the Prima sparkly flowers and sparkly brads as well. Then I pop dotted Tilda, added Stardust Stickles to her wings and some highlights using white acrylic paint. So soft and sweet!!

Tommorow is another wonderful Friday Sketchers post, so stay tuned for that!!!

All That Scraps Background Challenge!!

Today is ATS Challenge Day!! Every Wednesday the All That Scraps Design Team posts their cards for a particular challenge and then asks everyone else to join along! This week's challenge is to use background stamps!

Since I only just joined the ATS Design Team, I don't have any of their background stamps so I had to be a little creative. I pulled out my Love Ya Lots stamp set which has this cute image of Lulu holding a flower and also this little heart stamp. So I stamped the heart all over a strip of Cameo Coral cardstock and then embossed it with my new Floral Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Lulu is stamped on Wausau bright white cardstock and coloured in using my Copic markers. I used my Nestabilities to cut her out and emboss the circle and the scalloped layer too. The sparkly patterned paper is from the DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby Girl stack and the card base is Certainly Celery. I added some satin ribbon from Target which matched really well. I also attached some tiny Prima flowers with some green brads, pop dotted Lulu and added that cute sentiment!

So be sure to play with your background stamps this week and play along! You can upload your creations to the All That Scraps Gallery and use the code ATSDTC05 when you do!

My internet connection has been in and out over the last couple of weeks and last night it was out all night!! It was torture!! I was panicking that I wouldn't be able to post this morning but I got up and was able to connect, thankfully. Let's hope it keeps up!

I have to work the late shift at the library today, so I have some time this morning to play (and do laundry)! I got my first DT package from All That Scraps yesterday and I'm dying to play with the new releases for July!! Wait 'til you see them!!

MFTSC35 and Pearlescent Paints!!!

This week's MFT sketch challenge is a great one! It features a large square card, which of course, is my favourite!! Heehee!! For this one I inked up a set that I received when I become part of the MFT Design Team, but I hadn't had the opportunity to get it 'dirty' yet. So with Father's Day here, I used Let's Hear it For the Boys and created this card!

I used my Copic markers and Archaic dp by Basic Grey and the cardstock colours are Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie and a bit of Bashful Blue. I stamped a bunch of little golf clubs and gold tees on the Mellow Moss strip, because of course, my Dad is a major golfer! I completed the card by adding the sentiment at the top, some ribbon across the middle and some Basic Grey brads! I'm sure he'll love it when I see him to give it to him!! haha! (We live an hour and a half apart.)

This next card is one I made for a girl at work whose last day is this week. She is a young girl moving on to bigger things and taking a trip to Europe this summer, so I wanted to make her a fun and cute card wishing her well. So I used this Happy Hopper image and the A Muse sentiment.

I coloured the image in with my Copic markers and then remembered that Kim had just sent me a full set of 21 Pearlescent watercolour paints!!! So I painted over the balloons with coordinating paints and the look SO shimmery!! It's difficult to get a good shot with the camera but you get the idea!! And they are SO unbelievably inexpensive!! They are currently in the MFT Store, but be quick and pick a set up before they are all sold out again!!!

Well, I'm off to work all day today, so no stamping for me!! Hope you get to squeeze some inky time in!! Have a great Tuesday!!!

Sending Sunshine Your Way!!!

Yesterday I played with a few of my older High Hopes stamps and I wanted to share this card with you. As you know, I love sketches......I really should start keeping a sketch book of them! Hmmmm....I'll work on that. Anyhoo, I was blurfing around and found a new challenge site called Our Creative Corner and it has a couple of my fellow DT members on it. They will be posting a challenge each week and this first week was a sketch challenge! Yay!!

So I stamped Beach Girl Patti on Wausau bright white cardstock and coloured her in using my Copic markers, of course! The card base is Cameo Coral and I used coordinating papers from the Imaginisce line, A Shore Thing. They have sparkles all over them and are really pretty in real life! I used my Nestabilities to cut Patti out and the sentiment is by Lizzie Anne Designs from the Shore Thoughts set. I tied some pretty pink satin ribbon that I picked up at Target in the wedding section, around the middle of the card and pop dotted the focal layer. The finishing touch was a pair of iridescent flowers by Creative Impressions that I attached with a couple of green brads! So summery!

Well today I only work in the afternoon, so I'm going to do a few things this morning before heading in. I hope you have a wonderful Monday!!!

This Just In.....Stamps Promote Education!!!

Good title, huh?? It's true.....well, at least that's my latest rationale for buying stamps!!! After reading this post, you'll agree I'm sure! *giggle*

So Emileigh had to make a poster for a media display about one of the many books she had to read for English class this semester. She decided to do it on the book Marley and Me, which is a memoir about a very special dog and actually they are currently making it into a movie starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson. Well, I just happened to have a bunch of 'doggie stuff' in my craft room, so I let her use whatever she wanted to make the poster.

It had to be a 12x17 inch poster so we took two 12x12 whisper white pieces of cardstock and attached them to extend the length and then covered it in this awesome patterned paper by Around the Block for the base. It was her idea to make the title with the Whimsical SU alphabet stamps that way and attach the little bone buttons. The collar was my idea which we made from pawprint twill and We R Memorykeepers hardware.

We stamped the bone-shaped dogtag from the My Favorite Things set Friends Furever on Brocade Blue cardstock and she chose the sentiment to go inside. We attached it through one of the eyelets with a keyring and pop dotted the tag. We also stamped the boy and dog scene and pop dotted it on the scalloped oval piece at the bottom left. She had to include some quotes from the book as well which she printed on the computer and we matted on coordinating cardstock. We added pawprint brads and a little rubber charm as well. The layout was totally her design!! I guess some of my papercrafting may have rubbed off on her!

So SEE!!! All the $$ I spend on stamping have really assisted in Emileigh's high school education....at least that's the latest rationale that I'm using for shopping at my local stamp/scrapbook stores.......feel free to use it!!!

Have a super duper day!!

Jen's Sketch For You To Try!

Yes, I am a week behind but so what?? What's your point??? Hehe. It's the story of my life. When I'm working at my craft table I always have my computer running with several windows open at the same time. Each window will have different challenges on it and when I'm creating, I'll often find a challenge that I want to do or that fits in with one of the DT items I am making at the time. This week I had Jen del Muro's sketch challenge open and I used it while playing with a new Magnolia stamp!

Edwin is a cute little sailor in this image and his hands are made so that you can fit the little board in them with a saying stamped on it if you like! I stamped Edwin on Wausau bright white cardstock and coloured him in using my Copic markers. I stamped the board and sentiment on a piece of Creamy Caramel cardstock and cut both images out. I used my handy dandy new Fiskars fingertip cutting tool to carefully cut around Edwin's hands and slipped the board underneath them. I stamped the sentiment by My Favorite Things from the Can Ya Dig It? set on the sign. The cardstock and all patterned papers were sent to me in a DT package by Magnolia. I used my Nestabilities to make the half circles, added some ribbon and Basic Grey brads, pop dotted Mr. Edwin and sparkled up his wings with Stardust Stickles. Then I added some highlights on his cheeks and shoes using some white acrylic paint.

Well, today I am off to work from 9-5pm. Boo-stinkin'-hoo!! I hate working Saturdays. Oh well. Hope you have a more enjoyable day than I will!!!
