Challenge 52 - Primarily Purple!!!

Well, it's Saturday again and you know what that means around here.....it's time for another fabulous Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge!!!

This week our fabby-dabby hostess is Andrea!! She must have a thing for purple because she's asked us to make our cards 'Primarily Purple'!!! That's easy for me because it's one of my favourite colours!!!

For my design I used one of the images from our new Festive Holiday line!! This little cutie is Willard and he has the most distressed look on his face, doesn't he?? I'm imagining that his mother got him all dressed up in his winter finery, all nice and warm and now he can't figure out how he's supposed to drink his yummy cocoa! Poor fella!

I used the awesome new Bo Bunny winter line of papers which feature the colour purple along with the pretty greens and blues. I coloured Willard up using my Copic markers, then cut him out with my paper snips.

I used Baja Breeze, Lovely Lilac and Certainly Celery cardstocks for matting then attached a pretty, glittery snowflake with a white brad. The blue button with twine matches the card base perfect and then I added the Warm Wishes sentiment which comes with Willard, along with a little Christmas tree accessory stamp! Lastly I made him a little sparkly by adding a touch of Stardust gel pen on his hat and scarf!

Hop on over to the challenge blog and check out what the Krafty Girls have for your inspiration and then join us for some stampin' fun and you could be the winner of some new rubbah!!!

Happy kraftin'!!

Kraftin' Kimmie's Doin' Cute Card Thursday!!

Happy Monday all....at least I hope it is for you! I've been sick ALL weekend and today isn't much better. Blech. I hate fall colds....actually any colds at all!

Anyhoooo, just thought I'd share this little birthday card with ya! This week Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is sponsoring the fabulous sketch challenge over at Cute Card Thursday! It's a really fun sketch and I had a lot of fun using it!

I decided to use Birthday Cake Overdose for my card, since I hadn't inked the poor guy up yet! I also used a fun new Birthday 6x6 pad of bright papers by SEI. I followed the sketch to the letter, which is unusual for me!

I coloured little Miles up with my Copic markers and added lots of sparkle to the icing using my Melon Spica pen. The sentiment I used is from the Holiday Sentiments set and I sponged around the main layer with some light orange chalk ink. Lastly I added some orange taffeta ribbon around the middle with a pretty little bow!

Hope on over to the CCT challenge blog and check out the wonderful creations that the design team made and then join in the fun! You could win some KKStamps rubbah! You have until Tuesday to play!

Happy kraftin'!

KKS Challenge 51 - An Awesome Sketch by Michele!

Sorry that my post is a couple of hours late this morning. I did up the challenge post last night and totally spaced on doing my own individual one. I'm feeling like I've been hit by a truck lately and now it's a full blown sinus cold thing...blech. I had a horrible night's sleep last night and only just woke up. I think my body's a TAD worn down from all the events over the last month or so.

Anyhooooooo....this week we have an awesome sketch from our lovely hostess, Michele! I LOVE sketches because it really gives you a place to start and takes a lot of the guesswork out of creating my card!

I hadn't yet played with the sweet Christmas Clara image, so I pulled her out along with my new 6x6 Mitten Weather pad with all these fun non-traditional Christmas colours! I coloured her up with my Copic markers and sponged a little around the main image using Wheat chalk ink. I used a couple of different green cardstocks and Pale Plum for matting. I added some red brads in the four corners and then some wide polka dotted red ribbon with a big fat bow! Lastly I added a phrase from the Holiday Sentiments set!!! LOVE that set!

Now hop on over (or in my case, shuffle on over in your pj's and fuzzy slippers) to the KKStamps Challenge Blog and check out all the inspiration the Krafty Girls have created for you! Then join us for this week's sketch challenge and you could win some new rubbah!!

Happy kraftin'!

Card Positioning Systems Sketch!!

This week Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is happy to be sponsoring the sketch challenge over at Card Positioning Systems!! If you'd like to play along, you could win some new rubbah!!

For my card, I used the new Merry stamp from our Krafty Holiday release!! The sketch was fun to start out with as inspiration....now my card is square, rather than long like they have in the original....but I'm using my creative license, I guess! heehee!

I started out with my Eskimo Kisses dp by Basic Grey from last year....so proud of myself for using up some of my older papers. I had SO much fun colouring up Merry with my Copic markers. Isn't she just a hoot? She reminds me of Mrs. Cleaver! Now Merry comes with her own sentiment and a pair of oven mitts as an accessory stamp, but I chose to use one of the fabulous phrases from the Holiday Sentiments set.

I used kraft cardstock for the base and Pretty in Pink and Real Red for matting. Then I added some lovely satin ribbon and a bow across the middle. The flowers are so pretty and sparkly in real life and I threw on a spattering of pearls a la Tara!! Isn't she pretty??

So Andrea came over to have a play date with me yesterday! I feel like I haven't coloured in SO long, what with all the big events we've been participating in....Krafty Day, Scrapfest, Mildmay....and I'll have pictures soon, I promise! So it was a great colouring day and I got three whole cards done. THEN, I started feeling crummy and as soon as Andrea went home, I crawled into bed and slept for two hours. Needless to say, I am down with a cold and I feel awful. Poo.

Don't forget that all the new Festive Holiday stamps are now available at the KKStamps Shop and you can also get the Gimme Kimmie's Kits for a limited time and at a discount! Hope you can join our CPS challenge!!

Happy kraftin'!

Krafty Hop.....the End!!!

You've reached the final stop on Kraftin' Kimmie's Kristmas Krafty Hop!! Baahahahaaaa! If you just happened upon my blog today, you might want to head over to the Challenge Blog and start from the very beginning! Be sure to leave a comment at each and every stop, because some lucky stampers are going to win some of the new stamps! Heehee!

So for my card, I used the ADORABLE Virginia!! I just loved colouring up her poofy skirt and swoopy hair.....that's a word right?? Swoopy?? I pulled out these scrumptious new papers from Bo Bunny.....just love the purples and greens and chocolate!

I coloured up the image with my handy, dandy Copic markers and used chocolate and purple cardstock for the base and matting. I added some lavish chocolate satin ribbon and a bow around the middle. I also used my Nesties to make a scalloped rectangle to frame Virginia and then a tiny tag punch to add the Noel sentiment from the Holiday Sentiments set!

Then, I figured she needed some snowy bling, so I attached three gorgeous glittery snowflakes with white brads. Aren't they lovely? Lastly I finished off the main image by sponging with Wheat chalk ink around the frame and sparkling up her hair with my Stardust gel pen!

So now that you've seen all the gorgeous *new* Christmas images, you can hop right on over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Shop to pick up yours!!! And don't forget, that for a limited time, you can scoop up all the images in each collection by choosing the Gimme Kimmie's Kits, which are available at a discount!

Now let's get workin' on those Christmas cards! haha! Happy kraftin'!

How about some more Krafty Peeks???

Are ya lovin' the new Kimmie Christmas stamps???? I know, right?! The Krafty Girls are doing a rockin' job with them all!

Now, this is going to be a short post, as we JUST got home late this evening after being away all weekend. We had an incredible time at Scrapfest in Oshawa with some of the Krafty Girls! And I'll be sure to post later with pics from the event! Then today we left Oshawa super early and drove up north to Mildmay and taught a couple of classes at a crop!! Needless to say, we are EXHAUSTED!

Anyhooo, I have the ADORABLE Virginia to show you today!!! I have a feeling this girlie is going to be loved by a lot of stampers! This is actually the sample card I made for the class in Mildmay today! I used some of my all time favourite Christmas papers, called Be Merry! I just love non traditional colours, especially pinks and blues!

I coloured her up with my Copic markers, matted her on pink and red, added some pretty blue snowflakes using a Martha Stewart punch and some red brads. Then I finished it off by using the sentiment that comes with Virginia.....OH and she comes with a cute little stocking accessory stamp TOO!!

Don't forget that all these new images will be available at the KKStamps Shop tomorrow morning!! And for those who have to have them all, we'll also have the Gimme Kimmie's Kits available at a discount for a limited time!

See ya tomorrow!

An Anniversary Krafty Hop!! and Challenge!!!

WOW!! I honestly canNOT believe that it's been a whole year since I started Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! What an incredible year it has been and I'm just in awe of the journey my life has taken in the last twelve months.

It has always been my dream to own a rubber stamp company, ever since I started in the industry....first as a hobbyist, then as a designer. There are so many wonderful people to thank! First and foremost, my amazing husband, daughter and parents who have just been SO supportive and helpful. Not only have they been behind me 100%, but they also encouraged me to take that leap of quitting my 'real job' to do KKStamps full time just a few months back! They even pick up scissors and help me cut rubber on a regular basis!! Heehee!

I am so very blessed to work with such incredible artists as Annie Rodrigue and Steven Leary! These guys are THE best at what they do, not to mention SUPER special people! Honestly, I just give them themes and ideas of what I imagine and they make my little thoughts become stamps!

Also my absolutely incredible Krafty Girls!! They are the ones that bring these images to life!! They are all such a fun group of designers and they make this job SOOOO much fun! Their love and support means so much to me and Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps wouldn't be what it is without them.

Lastly, there are so many wonderful people in this industry that have helped me, guided me, shared their wisdom and experience with me and for that I am so grateful. In business today, most industries are so competitive and cutthroat but I have found nothing but generosity and support from all my stampin' friends!! Some special people that have helped me are Carol Harrison (who actually manufactures all my rubbah!), Melissa from Pink Cat Studio, Christine from All That Scraps, Emily from Stamping Bella, Nikki from Bunny Zoe Crafts, Lacey from Stamp and Create and Amy from Stampin' Stuff! These are just a FEW of the wonderful ladies who have helped me so much!!

*sniff, sniff* Okay, enough of the gushy stuff now!

The card I created for this week's Celebration challenge, features Birthday Friends! I just love these little mice! Aren't they cute? The paper I used is from the SEI 6x6 Happy Day pad. I used Kraft cardstock for the base and some bright pink and turquoise for matting.

I used the Happy Birthday Sentiment from the Everyday Sentiments set and added a button and some linen thread. I had to finish off the icing by adding some sparkle using my Chocolate Spica pen (thanks to Michele, who made me by ALL the Spica pens because I 'have to have them'!!)

So you've reached the end of the Anniversary Krafty Hop!! Thanks for celebrating with us!! Don't forget to join the challenge, leave comments on all the blogs on the hop and stop over at the SHOP to check out the super Anniversary Sale this weekend!!!

Thanks and Happy Kraftin'!!
