Krafty Challenge #63!!

Good Saturday morning, peeps!! Time for another fun challenge with the Krafty Girls!!! This week's challenge is to reduce, reuse, or recycle!! The Marvelous Melanie would like you to repurpose something to use on your design!! This doesn't have to be hard...just be creative!!!

For my recycled item, I used this gorgeous wide grosgrain ribbon!! It was actually tied around a pair of flannel pajamas that were given to me two Christmases ago. I was hanging on to it for just the right card and I think this is it!

I used the new Stripes the Zebra for this sweet baby card! I stamped him up and coloured him using my Copic markers. I sponged around the edges of the main layer with pink ink to soften it up. The card base is Basic Black to make the pastel colours pop. The patterned papers are actually from a winter line by Three Bugs in a Rug. I just love all the stripes.....to go with Stripes!! Heehee!

I stamped the sentiment that comes with Buggy Full 'O Ducks at the bottom. A little sparkle was also added to the butterfly using my clear Spica pen. Finally, I attached a pink crocheted flower with a pearl brad. I made the flower a while back, when the crocheted flower bug hit me. I think I made about ten of them and then lost interest. Hehe.

I hope you'll join us for this week's challenge and you could win some new Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!! Hop on over to the challenge blog and get some more inspiration and ideas that you can use on your creation!!

Happy kraftin'!

It's Cute Card Thursday Time!

Happy Thursday....the work week is almost over! Yay! And this Thursday is special because Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is sponsoring the sketch challenge this week over at Cute Card Thursday!! And if you join in the fun, you could win some new rubber!!!

I thought this sketch would fit one of the newly released Steven Leary stamps, so I decided to play with Buggy Full 'O Ducks!! I stamped up the image on Neenah cardstock using Memento ink and coloured it up with my Copic markers!

The papers I used were mostly from the DCWV Sweet Stack and I also used the pink one with tiny white hearts which is from a SU stack. The card base is Kraft and the matting cardstocks are from Bazzill I cute out the image with an oval Nestie and sponged around the frame with a purple chalk ink. I added some pearls in the corner and finished it off with this yummy wide ribbon!! The big ol' bow was made using my Bow Easy!!

Several of the Krafty Girls played along with the sketch too, so hop on over to the Krafty Blog to check them out and then go see what the Cute Card Thursday peeps did with it!! And I hope you can play along with us!!

Happy kraftin'!

You're Toadally Awesome!

Good morning, my stampin' peeps!! It's a cold and blowy Tuesday morning here...what's it like where you are? I don't know about you, but I'm pretty much done with the winter weather. The cold doesn't bother me so much, but that SNOW!! Sheesh!!

So this morning, my card is hopefully going to cheer you up....start thinkin' about spring!! 'Cause You're Toadally Awesome!! heehee!

I had a ton of fun playing with the new Froggie Family from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! Aren't they just the perfect little family....Dad in his bowtie, Mom in her pearls, a cute little baby and of course, the cool teenager! I coloured them up with different shade of YG and G Copic markers, then went back in with my Colorless Blender pen and dotted around in certain areas, like under their chins, on their feet and on their tummies.

I used my new Labels Fifteen nesties to cut them out and then used some purple chalk ink to sponge around the frame. The papers I used are from the Utopia Collection by Kaisercraft. I added some felt flowers and a sparkly button that I've had for ages...from Artsylicious. Then tied some of my new baker's twine in the button and added a trio of dew drops in the bottom corner. I finished the card off by stamping one of the two sentiments that come with the Froggie Family!!

Well, I've got lots of work to do today, but I hope to get krafty a little later! Hope you have some time to do that too. And if you'd like a challenge to play along with, we've got a great one going on over at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge Blog! Come play with us!

Happy kraftin'!

Challenge 62 - Fairytales!!

Happy Saturday!! It's time for another super fun challenge with the Krafty Girls!! This week our hostess is the Totally Terrific Tara...heehee! And the theme of the challenge is Fairytales!!!

For my card, I decided to use Princess Petunia!! I just looooooove fairytales and princes and princesses and knights in shining armour!! Those are my favourite kind of movies too.....Robin Hood, First Knight.....you know, knights of the round table stuff!!

Anyway, I used some new paper from SEI, with lots of little and big hearts on it. I coloured up Petunia with my Copic markers in different shades of pinks and peaches. The card base and matting are all SU cardstocks and I added some lovely white ribbon and made a bow using the Bow Easy template.

I used a Martha Stewart leaf punch to add some extra leaves to the trio of Prima roses in the corner. I finished off the card by adding the sentiment that comes with Princess Petunia!! Perfect!

Now hop on over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge Blog and check out all the amazing creations from our Krafty Girls! Then join us for this week's challenge and you could win some new rubber!!! Yaaaay!

Happy Saturday and happy kraftin'!

Happy New Baby!!

Good morning stampers!! It's a GOOD day! Why? you ask.....well, because I get to spend the WHOLE day in my kraft room.....in my jammies!! Yaaaay! I got all my work caught up with yesterday so that I could set this day aside to play.....gotta do that every once in a while, right?

So are you just lovin' the new Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps that were released this past weekend?? So much fun....yummilicious Berry Girls, cuddly Animals and adorable Baby stamps!!!

This card is just a quick and simple one that could be used for a baby gift, welcome baby or shower invitation! I used the new Special Delivery stamp and my Copic markers...then used my Nesties to cut it out and emboss it and then sponged around the frame with some blue chalk ink.

The patterned paper is from the Jack and Jill line by Prima and the cardstock is all SU. OH and something super exciting happened while making this card......I FINISHED A ROLL OF RIBBON!!! YUP! I did! I pulled out the blue ribbon to use on my card and as I was unrolling it, it came to the end of the spool......well, I bet there was a dumbfounded look on my face. I don't think that's ever happened before!!! Haha! See the exciting things that happen when you use up some of your old stash instead of diving into the new stuff!!?? HA!

Anyhoo, I added the ribbon, an adorable baby bottle charm and used the sentiment that comes with the Buggy Full 'O Ducks stamp. Simple!!!

Well, I'm off to kraft!!! Have a super day!!

Krafty January HOP!!

Well.......what did ya think??? Some pretty amazing stuff along this hop, wouldn't you agree!? And this is the last stop... on the hop and then...you can shop!! haha! If you haven't started at the beginning of the hop, just head on over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge Blog and be sure to leave some love at every stop, because some lucky stampers are gonna win some new rubbah!!!

My card features probably my favourite stamp of this release....Rebecca Raspberry! She was the first image I HAD to colour up and play with! I just LOVE her hair....and her frilly, flouncy dress and those yummy delicious raspberries! I pulled out my Pixielicious 6x6 pad for colour inspiration and coloured Rebecca with some dark, rich purples and browns. I think her hair is so much fun to colour!!

Then I cut her out with my new Labels 17 Nesties....I think they are my fave, I've been using them a lot lately! Like on the last three or four cards! HA! While the frame was still on the image, I sponged around the edges with a green chalk ink. The cardstock is all Stampin' Up and the patterned papers are all Cosmo Cricket.

I added some SU ribbon and tied the perfect little bow using my Bow Easy template. I pulled out some yummy Prima hydrangeas to pretty it up, then lastly I added the perfect sentiment....which by the way, come with Rebecca Raspberry along with a coordinating accessory stamp!!! Ain't she SWEET?!!!

So that's it for our Krafty Hop and all our Krafty Peeks!! I hope you've enjoyed all the delicious and adorable creations that the Krafty Girls and Guests have shared along the way! Now all SIXTEEN of the new images are available, from three different artists, over at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp Shop! So this week's challenge is from our hostess, the newest Krafty Girl, ANGIE!!! It's called Fancy Florals!! You can use flowers in your image, in your papers, made with die cuts, flower embellishments...whatever you like! And it you love flowers as much as I do, this was any easy challenge! haha!

My card features the berry nice new lady, Stella Strawberry!! I just looooooooooooove her hair so much!! And do you remember how much I love pink and brown??? So that's what colours Stella got!!

I stamped her on Neenah with Memento ink and coloured her up using my Copic markers. I used a combo of my fave pinks, R81, R83 and R85! Then I cut her out with my new Labels 17 Nesties and sponged around the edge.

The papers I used are from a My Mind's Eye glitter stack and I used SU cardstocks for matting and the base. I stamped the sentiment that comes with Stella (as well as a strawberry accessory stamp) on some coordinating paper....Wishing You a Berry Nice Day! Heehee! Then I added some lovely wide chocolate satin ribbon, with a big bow and added a strawberry charm!! So sweet!

Krafty Peeks....Day Two!!!

Are ya back for more??? Haha! Well, we've got more!! Today's Kraftin' Kimmie samples feature stamps from the amazing Steven Leary!!! And they are cutie-patootie BABY images!!!

My card today features the new Teddy Bear Trio stamp!!! SO cute, yes?! While I describe my creation, see if you can see the glaring flaw in my design.....well, it's glaring to me anyhoo! And I didn't notice it until I had finished it, taken pictures and edited them. By that time, it was too late. See if you can spot it.

So I stamped the SWEET teddies on Neenah white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them in using my Copic markers....surprise, surprise!! Then I cut the image out and embossed it using Labels 17 Nesties....LOVE these! While the image was still in the frame, I sponged around it using Wheat chalk ink.

The card base is kraft cardstock and the single piece of patterned paper I used is from one of my new 6x6 pads by My Mind's Eye...not sure which one. Then I matted it on lilac cardstock, added some sweet pink ruffled ribbon and added a big ol' button with baker's twine. I also stamped the perfect sentiment, that just happens to come with Teddy Bear Trio!!! Sweet, yes?

So have you spotted it?? The Kimmie faux pas? Well, apparently I haven't seen any panda bears around St. Thomas lately because I coloured his face in reverse! The mask is supposed to be black and the rest of his head is white....duh! Oh well....you never woulda noticed, right? Haha!

Now hop on over to the KKStamps Challenge Blog to see the list of all the Krafty Girls and Guests that have lovely creations to show you, featuring the new Steven Leary stamps (which will be available on Sunday)!! Then come on back tomorrow for a challenge and some MORE new stamps from another artist....can you guess who???

Happy kraftin'!

Then come back tomorrow for more peeks from another artist.....you'll have to wait and see which one!!

The stamp I am using on my creation today is called Tickled Pink Piggies!!! This trio of cutie pies was so much fun to colour! You KNOW how I love pink! Now the picture doesn't really do it justice because I couldn't get the pinks quite right. Trust me.....it's much lovelier in person!

I used some sweet papers from my new Tickled Pink 6x6 paper pad from My Mind's Eye! HEY!!! I just NOW realized the name of the pad.....how serendipitous!!! That's SO COOL!! Hah! Anyway, I used a very simple layout because I wanted the focus to be the adorable image!

I added some cream lacey trim, a sparkly Prima flower and lots of pearls, a la my girl Tara!!! (Love how she sprinkles pearls and bling all over her cards!) Then I added the sentiment that comes with this stamp....isn't it perfect!?

All the stamps we'll be showing you over the next few days will be available on Sunday, at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Shop! Come back tomorrow for more inky fun!!

Happy kraftin'!!

Challenge #60!!

Woohoo!! Well, Happy New Year! This is my first post of 2011!! I feel like I've been away for SO long! I hope you all had a magical Christmas and are all rested up now! HA! I think we need a holiday from the holidays, don't you??

So that's why this week's challenge at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog, is to Unwind!!! The wonderful Michele Boyer is our hostess this week and she would like us NOT to use any ribbon, twine, lace, trim...fibres of any kind on our designs. EEEK! The thought of making a card with no ribbon had me in sweats!! I never realized just how much ribbon I use when I'm crafting!

Anyhoo, here's my card! It's a very clean and simple design but with lots of layers....does that still count as 'clean and simple'?? I don't know. Anyway, I used the lovely Lillith and paper pieced her dress! The papers I used are from the Pixielicious 6x6 pad from Cosmo Cricket. I LOVE that pad! In fact, I've used so much of it that I actually had to buy myself another pad!! That NEVER happens!

It almost killed me not to add some nice satin ribbon with a big ol' bow on the side....but I held back! I just added some brads in the four corners of the main layer and then added a flag with the sentiment on it....from the Fun Sentiments set. And all done! And I kinda like it!

Now be sure to hop on over to the challenge blog and check out the gorgeous creations from our Krafty Girls and Krafty Guests! Then if you feel like spying some snippets of our January release stamps, head over to the KKStamps fan page on Facebook! We've posted a couple of little tidbits for our Facebook fans! And then our main Krafty Peeks will begin on Thursday, January 13th with the new stamps being released on Sunday, January 16th! And it's a BIG release, so be prepared!!!

Happy kraftin'!!
