Challenge #80 - A Stitch in Time!

Happy Saturday, stampers! I hope you get some time to kraft this weekend. It's awfully yucky and rainy here in Southwestern Ontario, so I'm thinking some fun colouring time is just the ticket!! hehe!

We've got a fabulous challenge over at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge blog for you this week from our newest Krafty Girl.....Carole!! I must say, her name was on my lips several times this week as her challenge to us is to HAND STITCH on our creations. Let's just say, sewing is not my strong suit. I curse enough at my sewing machine, but doing it by hand?? I mean, seriously. You think she'd be nice for her first challenge with us, not make any waves and give us a nice, easy challenge. But OH no! She comes out with guns blazin'! Sheesh. Who invited her to the party, anyway? *wink*

SEW....or should I say, SO.....I did the only thing I could do...a trio of little x's stitched with dark brown linen thread. Obviously I wasn't all too creative with this one, but I didn't want to wreck my image either, as I kinda like it. The other girls have done MUCH more creative things with their stitching!

I used the lovely Emelia...who will always be one of my favourite images. The papers are some from the It's Your Day collection from Fancy Pants. The card base is a 6x6 in chocolate cardstock, along with red and olive green for matting. I added some wide stitched red grosgrain ribbon and also discovered that I still have some metal photo turn embellishments (along with about four full tins of the rest of the stuff) from SU. Don't judge me. I finished off the card by attaching a sentiment flag with a coordinating brad, featuring a sentiment from the Steampunk Sentiments set.

Now, you can hop on over to the KKStamps Challenge blog and check out all the awesome (and much more creative) stitching samples the Krafty Girls and Guests have created for your inspiration! And we hope that you can join us!! You have one week to take part and upload your design....and if you use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp, you'll be in the random draw to win the lovely new Roxy stamp as featured on Carole's gorgeous card!! I'd LOVE to see your hand stitched creations!!!

Happy kraftin'!

Tallulahbelle Meets Cute Card Thursday!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is sponsoring this week's Cute Card Thursday sketch challenge and it's a good one!!!

I used Miss Talullahbelle from our Fairy release last month.....I just love colouring up that corkscrew hair!! The patterened papers I used are from the Safari Girl 6x6 glitter pad by Best Creation Inc. So sweet and sparkly!

Talullahbelle was coloured up with Copic markers in coordinating colours and then cut out and embossed using one of my fun Nesties, then sponged around the frame with a lilac chalk ink. The 6x6 card base is done with Kraft and I used some Bazzill cardstocks to matt. The sentiment was stamped and then the cardstock snipped into a flag and all the Prima flowers were attached with orange brads. Finally I added a tiny bow at the bottom using a scrap of gingham ribbon and then I added some more sparkle to her wings and antennae using my Copic Spica pens!

Hop on over to the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog and check out more samples made by their fabulous DT and then join the sketch challenge! You could win some Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps rubbah!!

Happy kraftin'!!

Krista....meets CPS!!

Good Tuesday morning stampers!!! I hope all my Canadian friends had a nice long weekend! It rained a little bit here but was generally a lovely weekend...especially with the warm weather and sunshine on Saturday! Yay! But it's back to work today!

This week, Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is thrilled to sponsor the Card Positioning Systems challenge again! It's a fabulous sketch and one that works really well with our images, so I hope you will play along!

I inked up the lovely miss Krista for this one....she is from our brand new May release of Sporty Girls from the Moonlight Whispers line. Isn't she a cutie??

I pulled out some of my all time favourite papers, Pixielicious by Cosmo Cricket (which are almost all gone...*sniff*) and coloured Krista up with my Copic markers. For embellishments I added some white rick rack around the middle, some fuzzy Prima flowers at the top and a scalloped circle sentiment layer for one of the fun sentiments that comes with Krista!

Some of the other Krafty Girls have played along as well and you will see them featured on the CPS blog later this week! We hope you'll join us for this challenge, as well as our Text Me challenge at the KKStamps Challenge Blog this week! That's two chances to win some new rubbah!!!

Happy kraftin'!

Challenge 79 - *Text* Me, Baby!!

Woohoo!! I love Saturdays!! Because it's Krafty Challenge Day....and also it's a long weekend! Yeeehaw!

Today we have a fantastically fun challenge from the totally terrific TARA!!! She says....*Text* Me!! So you must use text in your patterned paper or in some way on your card. When I thought about this challenge, I wasn't sure if I had any pp with text on it, but I was pleasantly surprised when I actually went looking through my stash. It seems that a lot of paper collections have text pages! (Shows how well I really know what's in my stash!) You could also use music sheets or newspaper on your card.

For my card I used the sexy Joanie!! I pulled out the lovely MME paper pad and found the script paper which I used as the main layer on the card. I coloured her up in coordinating colours.....love the aquas and oranges together! The card base is a black 6x6 and I found some matching aqua textured cardstock for matting. I attached some layered flowers with silver flower brads and finished it off by adding one of the sentiments that comes with Joanie!

I'd love for you to play along with us this week and if you use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp, you could be our random winner for some new rubber!! Who wouldn't like that???

Have a fabulous weekend and happy kraftin'!

That's How I ROLL!

Good Wednesday morning, all! It's another wet and dreary day here in Southwestern Ontario, but that's okay because I have lots of stuff to do indoors!

Now before I tell you about the card I have to share this morning, I just want to tell you to go see the movie, Bridesmaids! I went with some girls last night and I honestly think it is the funniest movie I've seen in a very long time! It's one of those movies that you'll have to watch a couple of times because everyone was laughing so hard, that we probably missed a good portion of the movie. And I don't mean just laughing....I mean rocking back and forth in my seat, with tears streaming down my face and no sound coming out of my mouth!! SO funny! Kristen Wiig and the ensemble cast are just a riot! Grab your girlfriends and go see it!! Seriously!

Okay, back to the card!! Honestly, I've had so much fun playing with the new May stamps, that I have several cards coloured up from the Krafty Peeks and Release that I haven't shared yet! And today I thought I'd show you ROXY!!!

She is a strong chickie, but cute too! Plus I think anyone who can stay upright on roller blades is pretty cool.....personally, I'd permanently injure myself if I tried those things out. I love her hair and headband too.....so I decided to make her even more cool by giving her pink hair!

I pulled out a 6x6 pad of some We R Memorykeepers papers and coloured Roxy up with my Copic markers in these fun colours! The card base is a chocolate 6x6 and I used some pink and blue for matting. I stamped one of the fun sentiments that comes with Roxy and then cut up the sentiment, attaching it haphazardly along the side. I found this fun pompon trim in my stash...don'tcha love it!? And then I finished it off by adding some bright pink gems!

So have you played along with this week's Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge yet?? You're missing out if you haven't! It's a fun one, called GIRLS ROCK!! Just use a girl image on your card or make a card to encourage a girlfriend and tell her how fabulous she is!! Hope you can join us!!

Happy kraftin'!

It's RELEASE DAY!!! Yaaaay!

Woohoo!!! What an awesome Krafty Hop, yes?? Such an incredible group of talented ladies, wouldn't you agree?? Well, I'm sorry to say that this is the last stop on today's hop....but I promise, I'll make it worth your while! I have TWO cards to show you before you go shopping!!!

Now if you've just happened upon my blog and want to start the Hop from the beginning, just head over to the Challenge Blog. And be sure to leave some love at all the stops because some random commenters are going to win some of the new stamps!!!

This first one is probably my favourite card of this release!! This is Cupcake Cory!! Isn't she sweet?? She is actually named after Angie's adorable daughter and really, she looks just like this...especially before she's about to devour something sweet! heehee!

I pulled out some Doodlebug paper from my stash that I remembered I had. Perfect images and colours! I stamped up Cory and coloured her with my Copics. The card base is Kraft and I used a couple of different pink cardstocks and an aqua for matting. I added some pink satin ribbon and a glittery cupcake button to the bow. The sentiment is from our Fun Sentiments set. Lastly I added some sparkle to her cupcake with my clear Spica pen.

My second card features one of the adorable new images from our newest artist, Cheryl Alger! This is Little Summer Girl! I used some new papers that I just picked up at Scrapfest. The are from the Beach Bum line by Fancy Pants....perfect summer papers!

I coloured her up with my Copics and added some crystal lacquer to the water to make it shiny. I found some thin brown ric rack and added some orange flowers, buttons and brown linen thread. The sentiment is from our Beachy Sentiments set but she does come with her own matching sentiment!

SO all of our new stamps are NOW available over at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Shop!! And for a short time we have our Gimme Kimmie Kits at a discount for you! You can get all the stamps in each line in a kit AND at a DISCOUNT! Don't miss them, because they aren't around for long! If you want them all, get them in a kit!

So that's it for the HOP! Now you can SHOP!!

Happy kraftin'!

Challenge 78 - GIRLS ROCK!!!

Welcome back for some more Krafty goodness!! Today we are not only posting our weekly super fun Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge....but all the samples feature our NEW Moonlight Whispers stamps for May!!! You'll get to see ALL SIX of the new Sporty Girls by Annie Rodrigue!! *squeal*

So your Krafty Hostess this week is ME! Hehe!! And I believe that GIRLS ROCK!!! Don't you?? We are ALL strong and powerful individuals and I think we need to celebrate that fact with a challenge!! Let's make cards featuring GIRLS....and if you'd like to go one step further, make a card for a girlfriend and celebrate her strengths....or send her some encouragement! Let's support each other!!

For my card this week I just HAD to play with the new.....JANELLE! She is just the perfect image for a strong woman card....a card to encourage someone, don't you think?? She's tough! It looks like I was also channeling the amazing Tara this week, as I made an easel card...love those!

So I pulled out some older papers from my stash and I believe they are from DCWV but don't quote me on that. They are all sparkly and glittery and perfect for this tough chick! The base of the easel card is made with black cardstock and I used red and also a deep pink for matting.

I added some yummy wide rick rack ribbon across the middle and also some glittery dots in the corners. Then I finished the inside as well with a popped up sentiment layer. Both of these awesome sentiments come with Janelle!!

Now hop on over to the Challenge Blog so you can see all the other samples and then join in this rockin' challenge!!! You could win Janelle and her sentiments and you have all week to play!

**Also if you leave some love on all the Krafty Girls and Guests posts, you have a chance to WIN some of the Sporty Girls!!! I'm giving away 3 each to two random commenters!!

Then be sure to come on back tomorrow for our Krafty Hop and Release Partay, which starts at the Challenge Blog!! You could win some MORE Krafty goodies!!! See you then!

Krafty Peeks, Day Three!!! Dress Up Kiddos!

OHMYGOODNESS!!! Sorry we're a bit behind today but in case you didn't know, Blogger has been down for almost a full day! So most of the Krafty Girls have been unable to post new Krafty Peeks for you! But we're back now with lots of adorable goodness for you to drool over!!

Today we are sharing new Dress Up Kids from Steven Leary! There are five in total in this month's set and they all measure about 2.25 inches tall, so they're quick to colour up to use on cards, decorate scrapbook pages and make awesome party invitations!! And these stamps, along with all our other new stamps, will be available on release day, Sunday, May 15th at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Shop!

My card features the sweet little Kitty who I must say reminds me of my Emileigh when she was 4 or 5 with her side pigtails! So cute!! The papers I used are from DCWV Nana's Nursery....I just love the colour combo!

I stamped Kitty on Neenah cardstock using Memento ink and coloured her up with my Copics. Then I cut her out and embossed her with my Nesties and while the image was still in the die, I sponged around the frame using Wheat chalk ink.

I used my scallop border punch on some yellow cardstock and the card base is Krafty....I'm really liking playing with Krafty cardstock lately. I added some seam binding ribbon in Krafty and added a corduroy blue button with linen thread!! So sweet!!

Now, I'm feeling like giving away more stamps today.....so be sure to leave a comment on each of the posts today featuring Steven's Dress Up Kids and you could win! The complete list of posts is over on the KKStamps Challenge Blog but keep in mind that some of the posts might not be up until later today (thanks to Blogger...sigh!). I'm going to give away TWO full sets of Dress Up Kids, so I hope you play along!!

Come on back tomorrow for our weekly Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge AND to see peeks of the new Moonlight Whispers stamps!! *squeal*

Peekies Day TWO!! Scripture Quotes!

Welcome back for some more Krafty goodies!!! Today we are sharing gorgeous designs featuring our a new set we're adding to the Krafty Quotes section of our shop!

I have to say, as much as I love colouring our awesome images with my Copic markers, I'm really enjoying changing things up and trying stuff that is new (and sometimes uncomfortable) for me. As I do it more and more, it's getting to be lots of fun and less stressful for me. Because it's out of my comfort zone, I freak out about it looking right but I thoroughly enjoyed making this card!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is thrilled to introduce our very first set of Scripture Quotes! I'm sure that you'll see more in the coming months and if you have a favourite quote or passage, let us know! This set features four scriptures in larger fonts, some of them you'll recognize and a couple of them are more unique and they are all so lovely.

They can be used on scrapbook pages and altered items as well as elegant and special cards. I've seen lovely designs already from the girls made for friendship, encouragement and even wedding!!! Imagine some gorgeous wedding cards or even invitations featuring the Love is... passage! That season will be soon upon us!

For my creation I chose to use the Mark 9:23 passage which is always a source of encouragement for me, especially when things are frustrating and I'm feeling down. I used vanilla cardstock and these patterned papers are from the Prima Botanical collection. I inked the edges of all the papers using Vintage Photo ink and the ribbon is Aqua Mist satin ribbon from Papertrey Ink which matched perfectly

I picked up some tubes of that Viva Decor stuff and this was the first time I have used it. I'm having a hard time finding those flourishes lately...you know, the pearl ones? I can find the rhinestone/blingy ones but the pearl ones are harder to find and when I do find them, so expensive. So I tried to make my own flourishes using the Viva Decor pen, making my own little pearls with the pen. It's not perfect but I don't think it turned out too badly for my first try! (The pic hardly shows them but they do look better in real life!)

***So....do you want to win this new set of Scripture Quotes??? Well, you can! Just leave some love on all the blogs today featuring Krafty Peeks and you could win! Hop on over to the Challenge Blog to see the list of links to our Krafty Girls and Guests and be sure to comment on each one....you never know who'll have the prize!!!

Then come on back tomorrow when we'll share some new Dress Up Kids from Steven Leary!!!

Happy kraftin'!

May Krafty Peeks....Day ONE!!!

It's Day One of our Krafty Peeks featuring the new May images at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!! And we're going to kick things off big time with a NEW artist AND the chance to win some of her new stamps!!! **All of our new May stamps will be available on release day, Sunday, May 15th!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is thrilled to introduce a new artist to our krafty mix....her name is Cheryl Alger! You may recognize her name from Sassy Cheryl's where she creates digital art. Cheryl is creating a brand NEW line of images, specifically for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! These stamps will ONLY be available at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and ONLY as unmounted rubber stamps! Now here's a bit about Cheryl!

I grew up outside of Staunton, Virginia, but now live in the Richmond, Virginia. I absolutely LOVE to draw and always carry a small sketchbook with me in case inspiration strikes me while I'm out and about. I have been creating digital art now for about 12 years now and have licensed my work to companies such as Kohl's, Hobby Lobby and Shopko, among others, for over eight years. I started creating digital images about two years ago. It's been a lifelong dream to become a working artist, and besides deadlines, I LOVE everything about what I do! It really helps that I have a very supportive husband and son (they also can be my biggest critics! I have to admit, I LOVE my job!

And I have one of the new images to share!!! Meet Spring Friends!! Totally cute, right??

I stamped this lovely little girl on Neenah cardstock using Memento ink and coloured her up with my Copic markers. It was so much fun! The image is about 3 inches tall so it's not too small and also not too large so it's overwhelming to colour! Just right!

The papers are some from My Mind's Eye and are some of my favourites. Sadly, I don't have much of it left. *pout* I used coordinating cardstocks for matting and added some wide grosgrain ribbon and a big ol' bow! I also attached some orange Prima flowers with some corduroy brads in the corner and I finished off the card by stamping the sentiment that comes with Spring Friends!

Now be sure to hop over to the KKS Challenge Blog to check out what the other Krafty Girls and Guests have creations to share with you. AND **be sure to leave comments on all the blogs because one lucky winner will receive the whole set of Cheryl's new stamps and I'll announce the winner in Thursday's post! Eeeee!**

Then come on back tomorrow for our previews of this month's new Krafty Quotes!!

A KRAFTY Challenge!

Well, it's Saturday and I'm back with another awesome Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge!!

This week our hostess is TRACY!!! Since we ALL are krafty girls, she figured it only appropriate that we GET KRAFTY this week!! So let's see you use that kraft cardstock on your creations....use kraft coloured ribbon, embellishments, patterned papers, whatever! But just GET KRAFTY!!

For my card, I actually cheated. This is a card that I made....oh about six months ago....and I've been hangin' onto it because it got picked up by Papercrafts Magazine!!! It was finally published in the May/June issue which is out right now! It's on the first page of the guy cards section (page 57)....I'm SO excited!

I made a very clean and simple card (which is SO not my style), but I figured it was a guy card and I didn't want anything too busy. Plus I wanted the card and sentiment to speak for itself.

I used Private Message (which just happens to be on sale this weekend) and stamped him on Neenah cardstock with Memento ink and coloured him in with my Copic markers. I only used Krafty and brown cardstock, distressed the edges of the main layer and attached some punched out stars with tiny brads. I also finished it off by accordion folding a strip of the brown cardstock rather haphazardly and adhering each fold down to keep it in place. Oh and the sentiment comes with Private Message, along with We Salute You!

(OH and don't forget about our awesome SALE going on this weekend....check the post below for details or just go to the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Shop!!)

(OH and one more thing.....Krafty Peeks for the May release start on Wednesday!! Eeeeee!)

Happy kraftin'!

Just wait 'til you see what they've been doing with the new Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!! heehee!

Also, I am so thrilled to announce that Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps has a new permanent Krafty Girl! Carole Burrage and I have known each other for a couple of years, starting on the MFT design team around the same time. You know those people that you just hit it off with instantly?? That's how I feel about Carole. In fact, we've said that it's a good thing we don't live near each other or we might wreak a little havoc when hangin' out together! But hey...I like havoc...in fact I pretty much live in a perpetual state of havoc......

Which brings me to my next announcement! I'm running out of roooooom for all these stamps!! Seriously....you should see my basement....actually you probably shouldn't. I just took delivery of yet MORE stamps yesterday and have nowhere to put them. So what do you say we have a sale?? Haha! Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is celebrating National Scrapbooking Day and Mother's Day by having a big ol' SALE!! There are over 100 stamps from all of our lines on SALE 25-75% off!! Yes, you read that right! The sale is from today until Tuesday, May 10th, while supplies last! Some of these stamps will be retired shortly, so get them before they are GONE! (Cannot be combined with other discounts and coupons.) Here are some pics of just a few of the sale stamps!

Last but not least....I just wanted to tease you a little bit! Next Wednesday the Krafty Girls and I will start previewing the NEW May Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! Eeeek! Yes, we have some fun new stamps from Annie (think sporty/outdoorsy), a new set of Krafty Quotes, some more Dress Up Kids from Steven AND....a new artist!!! Heehee! You'll have to wait and seeeeeee!
